Icom MXA5000 AIS ontvanger

Het maritieme programma van Icom is uitgebreid met de MXA5000 2 kanaals AIS ontvanger.

Onafhankelijk van elkaar worden de kanalen 87 en 88 ontvangen.

Door de diverse outputs is het mogelijk deze informatie op een extern display te laten zien.

Output 1 (NMEA 0183-HS): RS-442 voor het aansluiten van navigatie apparatuur,

Output 2: RS232 voor het aansluiten van PC. GPS data input voor multiplexing GPS en AIS data (formaat regels RMC/GGA/GNS/GLL).

De MXA5000 heeft geen extra antenne nodig. Op de achterzijde van de Icom MXA5000 zijn twee antenneconnectors, één voor de antenne en op de andere wordt de marifoon aangesloten. De IC-MXA5000 splitst het input signaal zelf voor ontvangst en beschermt zichzelf wanneer er met de marifoon wordt gezonden. GPS data input voor multiplexing GPS en AIS data (formaat regels RMC/GGA/GNS/GLL).

The MXA-5000 dual channel AIS receiver allows boat owners to receive AIS information (both Class A and Class B AIS signals) on two channels simultaneously and outputs this real-time information to a computer, radar or a chart plotter, thus aiding navigation and collision avoidance.

What is AIS?
AIS (Automatic Identification System) provides a vessel's navigation information, in real-time, to the vessel traffic center such as Port Control of Coastguard Centre or other nearby ships by using digital data over VHF channels. SOLAS vessels are obligated to install an AIS transponder under SOLAS regulations.
